Understanding the Difference between God’s Omni-Presence and His Manifest Presence

Understanding the Difference between God’s

Omni-Presence and His Manifest Presence

In Jerimiah 23 it describes God’s Omni-Presence. Verse 23 Am I a God at hand, saith the LORD, and not a God afar off? 24 Can any hide himself in secret places that I shall not see him? saith the LORD. Do not I fill heaven and earth? saith the LORD. God is everywhere and sees everybody and everything!

John 14 describes who God will manifest himself to by His Holy spirit. Verse 21 He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.

In 2Ch 5 we see what happens when His presence manifests to humanity Verse 14 So that the priests could not stand to minister by reason of the cloud: for the glory of the LORD had filled the house of God.

God desires to manifest himself to us as his sons and daughters but he places conditions upon his manifest presence. One of the major differences between the Omni-Presence and His Manifest Presence is that there is no condition placed upon his Omni-Presence. The Manifest Presence; however, has conditions to it as we read in John 14.

In 1 Corinthians 12:8-11 we see the nine manifestations of the Holy Spirit. These are ways that God shows his love to us by allowing His presence to manifest and as a result many times he does so through his gifts. These are moments God encourages us to covet earnestly for and wants us to seek him for.

I believe there is a danger in seeking for God’s manifest presence if our hearts and lives are not right with him. While His presence cannot be earned with religious works; however, it can open us up to deception if we have rebellion in our hearts toward the ways of God. According to scripture lying signs and wonders are real and those who do not love truth are the most susceptible to them.

I believe the church should seek God for his Manifest Presence but also believe we should allow the Holy Spirit to sanctify us from any attitude that displeases the Lord. Pursuing the following Four H’s in character traits is what ushers in the true presence of God into our lives.

Honesty 2Cor 8:21 Providing for honest things, not only in the sight of the Lord, but also in the sight of men.

Humility Jas 4:6 But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.

Hunger Mt 5:6 Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.

Holiness Ps 29:2 Give unto the LORD the glory due unto his name; worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness.

Generational Gaps

Generational Gaps

Psalms 78:4 We will not hide them from their children, shewing to the generation to come the praises of the LORD, and his strength, and his wonderful works that he hath done.

There are a number of generations on the scene today and the divide between the different generations are greater than ever before in history. This is not the heart of God and he clearly states in his word his desire for the previous generation to hand the baton of the gospel and his ways to the next generations. Here are some of the generations alive in America today.

  • The Silent Generation: Born 1928-1945 (73-90 years old)
  • Baby Boomers: Born 1946-1964 (54-72 years old)
  • Generation X: Born 1965-1980 (38-53 years old)
  • Millennials: Born 1981-1996 (22-37 years old)
  • Post-Millennials: Born 1997-Present (0-21 years old)

The difference between the Silent Generation and the Millennials is almost mind boggling as far as their varying world views on morals, debt, politics, religeon, and many other things. Scripture is not silent on this subject. The Apostle Paul as he prophetically looked down through history describes the moral demise that takes place in the endtime generations.

2Timothy 3:1 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. 2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, 3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, 4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; 5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

As scripture describes the endtime generations it does not limit this demise to the world but verse 5 clearly identifies the powerless church as part of the problem. The enemy of our souls has a strategy to undermine the influence of one generation to the next to try to destroy the plan of God to maintain moral integrity through impartation from one generation to the next.

I want to leave you with some good news. God still has a plan to raise up a godly remnant seed in the latter days that he will pour his Spirit upon as described in Joel and the book of Acts! However that plan involves impartation from one generation to the next! From godly parents to their children. From spiritual fathers and mothers to their spiritual seed. Position Yourself for Breakthroughs in 2019!

A Word for January, 2019

Eph 5:14 Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light. 15 See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, 16 Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.

In praying about this upcoming year the Lord put 2-words in my spirit

1. Re-prioritize

2. Breakthrough

In praying about these 2-words I felt like 2019 was a “season of breakthrough” for many but felt like for some that it was conditional upon being able to “Re-prioritize”. The re-prioritizing had to do with removing some things and/or readjusting the level of importance that other things may have had in our lives.

I believe the Lord would have us look at the things that occupy our time like….

Entertainment, Technology, Pursuit of wealth, Business or Work, Unhealthy relationships, Socializing, Food

In comparison with things that edify the spirit man like….
Seeking God’s face, meditating on the Word, Fellowship of the Saints, Ministering to the Lord, Praying in the Holy Spirit, and Intercession

Jesus said in Mt 6:21 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also. I believe that our investment into the latter list will be releasing the season of breakthrough that God has for you!
